Veteran hiplife artist Mzbel has expressed her disappointment over never winning an award in Ghana despite being in the music industry for two decades.
In an interview on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z monitored by NewsandVibes, she revealed that although she has been recognized with awards from countries such as Nigeria, Liberia, Kenya, and Ivory Coast, she has yet to receive one from her homeland.
Reflecting on her career, Mzbel admitted that if she had the chance to start over, she would focus more on branding.
She acknowledged that her lack of preparation for the music industry led her to make several missteps, which may have contributed to her being overlooked for awards.
She explained that her approach to music was unstructured, and she did not pay attention to image and strategy.
From her choice of outfits to public statements and appearances, she now believes a more calculated approach would have made a difference.
Despite this, Mzbel holds no grudges and remains focused on her craft, hoping that one day, her contributions to Ghanaian music will be fully recognized.
