Operatives of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) have arrested a senior manager of a manufacturing company for allegedly attempting to smuggle cocaine out of Ghana.

The suspect, whose name has not been officially disclosed, is alleged to have concealed the substance in a consignment of packaged gari, also known as cassava flakes.

He was apprehended at the Kotoka International Airport following what officials described as an intelligence-led operation.

Sources at KIA told Graphic Online that the suspect is believed to be in charge of production at the manufacturing company.

Authorities say investigations are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attempted shipment and to determine whether other individuals may be linked to the alleged syndicate.
