The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) will this afternoon present 100 water pumps to the National Service Secretariat (NSS) to support its nationwide farming initiatives.
The presentation will be led by the NAIMOS Director of Operations, Colonel Dominic Buah, who will host the Director-General of the NSS, Madam Ruth Seddoh.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Lands, the presentation of the water pumps is expected to boost agricultural productivity under the NSS’s farming programmes while strengthening inter-agency cooperation in the broader national effort to curb illegal mining.
The engagement will also provide an opportunity for both institutions to explore areas of collaboration in the fight against illegal mining.
The anti-galamsey campaign is being vigorously pursued by the sector minister, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, with the full backing of His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, the Ministry stressed.
“NAIMOS remains committed to enforcing the laws against illegal mining through sustained operations, including the arrest of offenders and the seizure of unapproved equipment used in activities that continue to degrade the environment.”
