Legendary musician Nana Acheampong has offered insights into why contemporary songs seem to have shorter lifespans compared to those from his era.
Attributing this trend to a shift in lyrical content, Nana Acheampong reminisced about the purpose of music during his time, highlighting its role in advising and inspiring listeners.
He contrasted this with modern music, which predominantly focuses on dance beats, resulting in songs quickly losing their appeal once listeners grow weary of them.
“In my time, our songs were about advising and inspiring people. Nowadays, it’s all about dancing. We dance to one song, and when we are tired of it, we move on to the next,” he explained in an interview with Zionfelix.
Despite this observation, Nana Acheampong remains active in the music scene. He disclosed plans to release a collaboration with Fameye on April 19, 2024, and is also scheduled for several live shows.
However, the music legend expressed concerns about the lack of promotion for his latest songs, acknowledging the challenges it poses but affirming his commitment to addressing them.
