Nana Agradaa’s Daughter Breaks Down as Mother Faces 15 Years Behind Bars

A heart-wrenching video showing the teenage daughter of controversial evangelist Nana Agradaa emotionally appealing for her mother’s release has begun circulating online. The video captures the young girl reading a heartfelt letter addressed to the court, pleading for compassion in light of her mother’s recent conviction.

Fighting back tears, the girl opened up about how deeply her mother’s absence has affected her. She described the emotional toll of being separated from her primary caregiver and the difficulty of adjusting to life without the woman who raised her.

Nana Agradaa, whose real name is Patricia Asiedua Asiamah, made headlines over the years for her dramatic transformation from a popular fetish priestess into a self-styled evangelist. She eventually founded the Heaven Way International Ministry, presenting herself as a reformed spiritual leader. However, her religious image came crashing down when allegations surfaced that she had defrauded members of her congregation.

On July 3, 2025, an Accra Circuit Court found her guilty on multiple charges, including defrauding by false pretence and advertising under charlatanic pretenses. The court handed her a 15-year prison sentence with hard labour. In addition, she was fined GHS 300 for the advertising-related offense. Prosecutors argued successfully that Agradaa used her ministry to deceive followers with false promises of wealth and financial miracles, collecting large sums of money from unsuspecting victims.

In response to the conviction, her lawyers filed an appeal at the Amasaman High Court, claiming that the original judgment was overly severe and biased. They argued that the trial court had misinterpreted the evidence and that the sentence was disproportionate to the alleged crimes.

However, on July 15, 2025, Justice Richmond Osei-Hwere denied her request for bail pending appeal. The court maintained that the conviction was justified and expressed doubt that her appeal would succeed. The judge directed that all case records and transcripts be compiled within 14 days to ensure a speedy review of the appeal.

As of now, Nana Agradaa remains incarcerated, while her legal team explores additional options in their attempt to challenge or reduce the sentence. The emotional plea from her daughter has only intensified public attention on the high-profile case.
