The General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, has issued a blistering rebuke to party insiders allegedly scheming to exploit the party’s return to power for personal gain. In a viral address to party faithful, Kwetey made it clear that the NDC will not serve as a vehicle for overnight wealth accumulation or backdoor deals.

His remarks come amid growing concerns that some members are cutting quiet deals with figures linked to corruption in the previous administration. Kwetey accused these individuals of undermining the party’s credibility and betraying the public trust that fueled its electoral victory.

He urged anyone whose primary motive is self-enrichment to exit the party and align with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), which he described as more suited to those chasing property and privilege. The NDC, he stressed, was elected to reset the country’s trajectory — not to recycle the very practices it campaigned against.

Kwetey’s warning follows reports of internal pressure being placed on state prosecutors to go soft on corruption cases. He cautioned that the party leadership is monitoring these attempts and may be forced to publicly name those involved if the behavior continues.

The message was clear: the NDC’s reset agenda hinges on integrity, accountability, and a commitment to the collective good. Any member seeking shortcuts to wealth, he said, is not only in the wrong party — they’re on the wrong side of history.
