Ahead of its 2026 National Delegates Conference, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has outlined key timelines for nominations, vetting, and elections while unveiling reforms aimed at promoting internal cohesion and credibility.

General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey confirmed that the party will hold its National Delegates Conference on December 19, 2026, to elect new national officers. Nominations for positions will run from November 7 to November 9, 2026, with vetting scheduled for November 12 and 13.

The announcement coincides with a directive requiring government appointees intending to contest internal elections to resign at least six months prior to the polls. “Those intending to contest at the constituency level shall resign by April 2026, regional-level by May 2026, and national-level by June 2026,” Mr. Kwetey said, stressing strict enforcement.

The General Secretary described the measures as part of a broader effort to reduce conflicts of interest and enhance internal discipline. He urged all party officials to uphold transparency, apply themselves diligently, and commit to the values of the NDC.
