The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced plans to deploy monitoring teams across the country and establish an independent collation centre to track the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.

Speaking on Joy FM’s Kwau Asante, the Deputy National Director of Elections of the NDC, Rashid Tanko-Computer, said the decision is aimed at promoting transparency and safeguarding the integrity of Ghana’s democratic process.

“The NDC is deploying our people across the country, and we have set up our own collation centre to track the process and the results as they come in,” Mr. Tanko-Computer stated. “This is about protecting the integrity of our democratic process.”

According to him, the opposition party has limited confidence in the manner in which the governing party conducts its internal elections, making independent verification of results necessary.

Mr. Tanko-Computer said NDC observers will be stationed at polling centres nationwide, while results will be collated in real time at the party’s central collation centre.
