In a bid to alleviate the burden of persistent power outages, the National Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hon. George Opare Addo, has announced plans to launch a dedicated Dumsor App.
The initiative aims to provide assistance and support to ordinary Ghanaians grappling with the challenges posed by irregular electricity supply.
Scheduled to be unveiled next week, the Dumsor App is poised to become a vital tool in navigating the uncertainties of power cuts.
According to him, the app will alert Ghanaians as whether or not an area has light. This will help to plan ahead before going or moving to any community.
“In the coming days, the youth wing of the NDC we will launch a Dumsor App that will help because government has refused to give us a timetable so we are going to bring an app. So you go to the app and type your location and if you have light you will know because someone would have entered the information that he has no light and some will say they have light. Next week we will launch the app. We are done with it. It will be on playstore and it will be on IOS.”
“It will help because NAPO is so arrogant, he said we should make our timetable so we have the app so when you wake up in the morning, you enter on the app if you have light or not. We are becoming each others keeper. So if you type i don’t have light and I am coming to your area, probably I won’t come because there is no light. When the light comes, just go back to the app and update it. So this is citizens’ response to dumsor.”
