The traditional authorities of New Oboase have commended the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, for returning to the community to personally thank residents for their support during the recent campaign period.
During his visit, Mr Asiedu Nketia addressed party supporters and community members, stating, “I am here today on behalf of the party and President John Mahama to thank you all for your support during the campaign period.”
The Nifahene of New Oboase, Nana Kofi Arkoh, praised Mr Asiedu Nketia for showing humility and appreciation by returning to express his gratitude.
He also took the opportunity to acknowledge the government’s ongoing development projects in the area, noting that they had positively impacted the community.
However, the traditional leader appealed for further intervention, urging the government and relevant stakeholders to expand initiatives to meet the pressing developmental needs of New Oboase and its surrounding communities.
Mr Asiedu Nketia did not shy away from criticising the previous administration led by former President Nana Akufo-Addo, alleging widespread mismanagement over the past eight years.
He claimed that the government’s failures had contributed to the current cocoa crisis affecting farmers nationwide.
“For the past eight years, the previous government, led by Nana Akufo-Addo, did not help the country at all; everything was mismanaged,” he said. “That is why the former Finance Minister has refused to return to the country to account for everything that happened, including the cocoa crisis the country is currently facing.”
Mr Asiedu Nketia assured residents that their concerns would be communicated to the party leadership and that efforts would be made to ensure the continuation and expansion of development projects in the area.
