The National Investment Bank (NIB) PLC has donated one million cedis to support a housing redevelopment project by the Ghana Armed Forces at Burma Camp.

The donation forms part of efforts by the bank to strengthen its operations and deepen its long-standing relationship with the military.

Managing Director of NIB, Chief Dr. Doliwura Zakaria, said the support demonstrates the bank’s continued commitment to the Armed Forces. He noted that both institutions have maintained a strong partnership through challenging and successful periods.

Receiving the donation, the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General William Agyapong, expressed appreciation to NIB for the gesture. He commended the bank for its recent progress and turnaround.

Lieutenant General Agyapong indicated that accommodation remains one of the major challenges facing the Armed Forces. He disclosed that discussions with government have resulted in an agreement to construct 10,000 housing units across the country within the next five years to address the deficit.
