Tragic news has struck the Nollywood community as actor Junior Pope Odonwodo, known as Jnr Pope, has passed away.
Reports indicate that the actor lost his life on Wednesday afternoon during a boat trip for a film production.
Junior Pope’s remains have been taken to the morgue.
The accident also claimed the life of another crew member, whose body was recovered.
However, three crew members remain missing, as they were among the five individuals on the boat that capsized after colliding with another vessel in the River Niger area of Anambra State.
Just before the tragic incident, Junior Pope shared a video of himself in a speedboat without a life jacket, expressing concerns about the risks involved in their work to entertain audiences.
The news has prompted an outpouring of condolences from fellow Nollywood actors on social media as they pay tribute to the late actor.
