Nigerian Artist Davido Slams Blogger Over Kidnapping Claim

Nigerian music star Davido has issued a stern warning after being falsely linked to a kidnapping incident by a popular Instagram blog.

The controversy erupted when Instablog shared photos of three suspected kidnappers apprehended by residents of Victory Estate in Ago Palace, Lagos State.

In the report, the alleged leader of the group identified himself as “Davido,” claiming it as his nickname during questioning.

The other suspects revealed they were from Kwara and Imo states, while the self-proclaimed leader, Ifeanyi from Anambra State, admitted to his involvement in the crime.

The post’s caption, which read, “Davido and two others apprehended for kidnapping in Lagos,” led to widespread confusion among followers who mistook the reference for the renowned musician.

The incident has sparked heated discussions online about responsible journalism and the impact of misleading headlines on public figures. Davido’s response underscores the potential damage that misinformation can cause, especially when it involves prominent personalities. The blog is yet to issue a clarification or apology regarding the misleading post.
