Nigerian National Arrested for Drug Trafficking along Accra-Aflao Road

The police have arrested a Nigerian for drug trafficking along the Accra-Aflao road in the Volta Region in a well-coordinated intelligence-led operation.

The 46-year-old suspect, identified as Charles Adenkule, was riding a black Liberty Jeep with registration number FK 692KF near Kpotame near Sogakorpe when he was busted on January 21, 2026.

A search conducted on the vehicle led to the recovery of ten(10) parcels of compressed substances suspected to be cocaine, each weighing approximately one kilogram and with an estimated street value of Ghc1 million.

In addition to this, the police found suspected Indian hemp concealed inside the inner lining of the vehicle’s boot.

The exhibits are set to be forwarded to the Forensic Laboratory for examination and analysis.

In a statement, the Volta Regional Police command reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and other forms of crime and encouraged the public to continue providing credible information to support policing efforts.
