Three-time Ghanaian paralympian, Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe, says he is highly honoured to represent the country once again in the upcoming Commonwealth Games slated for Glasgow from July 23 to August 2.
The veteran para athlete who received confirmation of his qualification for participation last week told Graphic Sports in an interview last week that he was going to ensure he once again bring pride to the nation at the Games.
He described the Commonwealth Games as one of the biggest competitions on the globe that many athletes look forward to and said he was really preparing towards it.
Botsyo who has participated in many international competitions and won medals was confident he would not disappoint the country and promise not to come home empty handed.
“I was so delighted when I received my confirmation to represent my nation in the upcoming Commonwealth Games. Ot will be an honour again to raise the flag of Ghana high,” he said.
While he acknowledge the challenging 5ask ahead leading to the competitions he admitted that adequate preparation and support from the authorities is what they all need to ensure they succeed at the Games.
He expressed gratitude to Ghana Olympic Committee and rhe National Paralympic Committee (NPC-Ghana for their wonderful support and guidance that has helped in this feat.
Again he congratulated all his other colleagues who have made it to the competition and even to those who couldn’t make it for their hard work.
He further advised who colleagues who made it to the Games to understand that it is going to be challenging and so they should put in extra effort in their preparation so that they can put the country l’s name on the map during the games.
