The National Labour Commission (NLC) has summoned four striking tertiary institutions’ unions for a meeting.

Invoking Section 139 of the Labour Act, 2003 (Act 651), it said the summon had become imperative after a High Court order given on February 13, 2026, for the workers to call off the action with immediate effect.

It said the court further restrains them from continuing with the illegal strike action.
