Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong, has made it clear that he will not accept results from the party’s January 2026 delegates’ election if he records zero votes in any constituency, particularly in the Northern Region.

Agyapong, a prominent NPP lawmaker, cited previous experiences in the 2023 primaries where he reportedly received zero votes in some areas despite evidence of support. He warned that any recurrence of such irregularities would provoke a strong response across other regions.

The NPP is set to elect its flagbearer for the 2028 general elections in 2026, with Agyapong competing against former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Agriculture Minister Bryan Acheampong, former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former party General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyepong.

Agyapong’s declaration has already stirred discussions within the party, signaling heightened vigilance and scrutiny as delegates prepare to cast their votes in the upcoming election.
