Dr. Bryan Acheampong has concluded a tour of the northern sector of the country, as part of his campaign in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential race with the election scheduled for January 31, 2026.
From Upper West through Upper East, North East, Northern, and Savannah regions, Dr Acheampong’s campaign team visited delegates and injected fresh momentum into the contest.
He deliberately engaged with the Upper East Region’s Kusasi enclave, visiting five of the six Kusasi constituencies, covering Pusiga, Garu, Tempane, Binduri, and Zebilla.
In Jirapa, a nephew of S.D. Dombo — a towering figure in the NPP tradition — publicly endorsed Dr Acheampong.
Within NPP history, the Dombo name represents inclusion, grassroots empowerment, and national unity.
In Walewale, the symbolic homeground of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Acheampong received a rousing welcome marked by chants, packed gatherings, and open enthusiasm from party faithful. Delegates praised his discipline, preparedness, and ability to win power in 2028, underscoring that his message of renewal is resonating even in traditionally emblematic strongholds.
The tour also broke new ground at the grassroots level. In Saboba, Assembly Members publicly endorsed Dr Acheampong, thanking him for deliberately engaging them — a recognition they said had long been absent from party leadership. They linked the neglect of grassroots stakeholders to the party’s poor performance in 2024 and pledged to carry Acheampong’s message into rural communities nationwide, describing him as a leader who listens, respects, and empowers the base.
That pattern repeated itself in the Savannah Region. In Salaga South, the Constituency Secretary revealed that although Acheampong was the third presidential aspirant to visit the constituency, he was the only one to attract such a massive crowd of Kokomba supporters. The turnout, he said, reflected genuine excitement at the grassroots. “The people are clearly happy to receive Bryan,” he noted, adding that Acheampong now “holds the unity of the party in his hands” and that victory for him is assured.
Throughout the tour, Acheampong delivered a consistent and pointed message to delegates. He urged them to support him with the assurance that he would, in turn, stand firmly with them. He stressed that a vote for him would not only return the NPP to power in 2028 but would also liberate delegates from pressure politics, insisting they should never feel compelled to vote for any candidate out of fear, coercion, or obligation.
Local party leadership echoed this confidence. Wa East Chairman Sumaila Kankuronye stated, “I’ve known Bryan for a long time and seen his contributions to the party. I believe he is the right person to win power for us.” Wa West Chairman Abdulai Seidu added, “Bryan is the only unifier our party needs for victory.”
