Former Minister of Environment, Prof Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, has declared that he will not participate in any disciplinary committee convened by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), asserting his innocence in the matter.

In an interview with Accra-based UTV, he expressed his dissatisfaction with how the party has managed recent situations, claiming that appropriate procedures were overlooked.

“What have I done? I am not going to meet any disciplinary committee,” he stated.

Prof. Frimpong-Boateng referenced a recent interview he granted a TV station that aired late at night.

He pointed out that by 5 AM the following morning, the NPP’s General Secretary had released a statement that quickly gained traction on social media.

He emphasised that, typically, a meeting should precede the issuance of a disciplinary letter and questioned the timing of the party’s actions.

“Are they saying they met at 4 AM? Initially, I thought it was a hoax until I heard him speak,” he remarked.

Furthermore, he urged the party to shift its focus from pursuing disciplinary measures against individuals to reevaluating its executive leadership to better position itself for the upcoming 2028 elections.
