Prominent New Patriotic Party (NPP) loyalist, Jennifer Oforiwaa Prempeh, popularly known as Jennifer Queen, has ignited online debate with her recent criticism of the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration.
Despite reports of the cedi gaining strength against the US dollar, Jennifer argued that the ordinary Ghanaian has seen no meaningful improvement in living conditions. According to her, the positive exchange rate trends have failed to translate into real economic relief for the public.
She maintained that under an NPP-led government, citizens would have experienced tangible benefits from the cedi’s appreciation, including a better standard of living and reduced financial stress. In her view, the current leadership has failed to leverage the improved currency value to improve everyday life for Ghanaians.
Her remarks have triggered widespread reaction online, with some echoing her sentiments while others challenged her perspective, accusing her of viewing the economy through a partisan lens.
