Dear Members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Esteemed Supporters, and Fellow Patriots,

In the sacred halls of the Vatican, when cardinals from across the world gather in conclave to elect a new Pope, they enter with deeply held preferences, fervent debates, and sometimes passionate differences. Each cardinal brings his own vision, conscience, and hopes for the future of the Church.

Votes are cast, ballots burned, and discussions unfold in prayerful intensity—yet the moment white smoke rises and “Habemus Papam” is proclaimed, a new Pope is chosen. At that instant, no cardinal walks away.

No one abandons the Church. Every cardinal, regardless of whom they supported, bows in obedience, aligns with the decision of the conclave, and unites under the new Holy Father to serve the greater mission of faith and the flock.

We have a Pope. The conclave is over.

In our own house, the New Patriotic Party has just concluded its presidential primaries—the modern equivalent of our conclave. Delegates from every corner of Ghana spoke clearly, and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has emerged as our flagbearer for 2028.

The process was vigorous, the campaigns spirited, and preferences strongly held, as they should be in a vibrant democracy. But now, like the cardinals after the white smoke, the time for division has passed. The moment calls for unity, alignment, and collective resolve.

To all who supported other aspirants—including those who stood with Hon. Kennedy Agyapong and others—let us embrace this truth: We never left the NPP. We remain steadfast in our loyalty to the elephant.

The party is infinitely bigger than any individual candidate or campaign. Our shared ideology, our commitment to progress, freedom, and prosperity for Ghana—these are what bind us.

I, therefore, call on every side of this internal contest to come together in true reconciliation. Let grievances be set aside, wounds healed through dialogue and forgiveness, and energies redirected toward the common enemy: the challenges facing our nation and the task of returning the NPP to power in 2028.

To our flagbearer, Dr Bawumia, and his team: be magnanimous in victory. Extend the hand of fellowship wide and warmly. Welcome every voice, every supporter, every former rival into the fold with genuine openness.

Make space at the table for those who once stood on different sides—because a truly united NPP is an unstoppable force. Unity is not uniformity; it is the harmony of diverse gifts working toward one purpose. Let your leadership reflect the inclusive spirit that draws all back home.

Fellow NPP members: the road to 2028 begins today—with rebuilt bridges, renewed zeal, and unbreakable solidarity. Let us work tirelessly, shoulder to shoulder, to deliver the victory Ghanaians deserve.

The conclave is over. We have our flagbearer. Now let us march forward as one family, one party, one unstoppable movement.

NPP forever! Greater heights await Ghana!

Sincerely,

Dr Palgrave Boakye-Danquah
