The opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken disciplinary action against one of its communicators in the Northern Region, Nam Zakali, following allegations of misconduct.
A statement released by the regional communications team on September 15, 2025, confirmed that Zakali had been suspended indefinitely. According to the party, his actions were deemed harmful to its interests, and the suspension was seen as a step to reinforce discipline and unity within the ranks.
This development adds to a growing list of disciplinary measures within the party’s northern branch. Just recently, the Tamale North constituency chairman was also suspended over allegations of violent conduct involving a polling station executive.
Party leaders have emphasized that members are expected to demonstrate loyalty and discipline as preparations intensify for the 2028 general election. The suspension of Zakali, officials noted, serves as a warning to others who may engage in behaviour considered detrimental to the NPP’s rebuilding efforts.
