Gushegu MP, Hassan Tampuli, has described the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries as a collective win for the party, commending both the winner’s conduct and the restraint shown by those who lost.

He said the manner in which the contest concluded reflects the party’s readiness to unite and refocus its energies on the political challenge ahead.

Mr Tampuli also noted that the internal elections were fiercely contested and, in his view, even more demanding than the 2024 general elections, largely due to their fast-changing and unpredictable nature.

“All in all, I believe the party is the real victor. Those who lost accepted the outcome with maturity, while the winner approached victory with humility. Now the party must stand ready to unite and confront the opponent ahead of us – the NDC,” he said during an interview on Channel One TV on Monday, February 2.

He further explained that the dynamics of the primaries required campaign teams to remain constantly alert and adaptable, as developments shifted rapidly across constituencies.

“I told some members of our team that this election was tougher than the 2024 elections. The dynamics were very fluid – something happens today, something else tomorrow, and you must keep responding. You can hardly take your foot off the pedal.”

“The moment you leave a place, someone else moves in, and sometimes areas you have already covered are unsettled again, forcing you to move from one constituency to another,” he added.
