Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency who doubles as the minority leader, Afenyo Markin has stated that he is not tickled by the fact that the NDC has majority seats in parliament.

The politician and lawyer made the statement while speaking in an interview on UTV, monitored by Gh Page.

According to Afenyo Markin, even though the NDC has the majority of seats in parliament, he is not afraid of that, stating that despite Goliath’s stature among other qualities, David defeated him.

He went on to add that, Ghanaians voted massively for the NDC in the last general election, which made them lose a lot of seats in parliament, but he could see that the same people regretted for the for the NDC.

The MP bragged that, per his checks, if elections were held today in Ghana, the NPP would reclaim their seats and become the majority in parliament, just as they were in the last 8 years.

“We are 87 and they are 188 but I am not afraid. When God is with you, don’t be afraid. Regardless of Goliath’s stature, David defeated him. With prayers everything shall be well”, he said.

“I know, if today, elections are held, the NPP would reclaim a lot of the seats they lost. There is no way NDC would win again. I know what I am talking about. The simple message I want to tell every single member of the NPP is to pray. Let’s forget our differences and just pray”, he added.
