A light-hearted political exchange has emerged between Ghanaian dancehall artist Stonebwoy and New Patriotic Party (NPP) figure Sammy Awuku, following comments about the role of music in Ghana’s recent elections.

The Bhim Nation president, speaking at a fundraising event ahead of the 2026 World Cup, suggested that his song “Jejereje” contributed to the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s return to power.

According to Stonebwoy, although he did not actively campaign for any political party, his music helped ease tensions during a crucial period.

“When we talk about contributions, I believe that my contribution has been very significant in winning power for the NDC,” he said.

“I made sure that the music was dropped within a moment where there was some ease in the system.”

Reacting to the statement, Sammy Awuku of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) offered a subtle but sarcastic response.

“Good afternoon, Efo. This is interesting… I honestly thought I was just vibing to your good music, not realizing it was also playing a role in a party’s electoral victory. We really do learn something new every day, bro.”

The exchange has sparked conversations online about the influence of entertainment figures in politics, with some users agreeing that music can shape public mood, while others dismissed the claim as exaggerated.
