The Ministry of Education has clarified that the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) is properly represented on the Governing Board of the Scholarship Authority, following concerns raised by the student body about the board’s composition and inauguration.

In a statement issued by the Press Secretary to the Minister for Education, Hashmin Mohammed, the ministry noted that the formation of the board followed extensive consultations with all critical stakeholders in the education sector, including student bodies, civil society organisations, and other key partners.

“Through this inclusive process, it was concluded that civil society organizations will serve as the umbrella body on the Governing Board. Accordingly, NUGS is rightfully represented on the board in accordance with the law,” the statement said.
