Agbesi Benjamin, the Oda Constituency Communication Officer, has been suspended by the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) Eastern Regional Executive Committee (REC) due to accusations of misbehavior including a publicly available audio tape. The action is in response to a purported audio clip that shows Mr. Agbesi discouraging a new party convert from joining the NDC—a behavior that the party believes is unsuitable for a communications officer. The party claimed that the issue had caught the attention of the regional leadership in a statement released during a virtual meeting on January 21, 2026. The letter said, “The Eastern Regional Executive Committee (REC) of the Party has been drawn to various acts of misconduct attributed to you.”
