Supporters of Odo Broni, the second wife of late Ghanaian music icon Daddy Lumba, have been left deeply saddened after the Manhyia Palace delivered its decision on the long-standing family feud over the singer’s funeral.

On Monday, November 10, 2025, the late musician’s elder sister, Ernestina Fosu, and family head Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu appeared before sub-chiefs at the Manhyia Palace for the third time in a week as part of ongoing efforts to settle the internal conflict. The meeting, which was held behind closed doors and presided over by several prominent chiefs including Otumfuo’s linguist, Baffour Kantankrakye, resulted in major changes to the funeral arrangements.

Among the resolutions, the Palace postponed the funeral from December 6 to December 13, 2025, and dissolved the committee previously headed by Abusuapanin Kofi Owusu. Additionally, the chiefs granted Ernestina and other relatives permission to carry out a fresh autopsy on the late musician’s body, following persistent allegations of foul play.

These decisions reportedly left Odo Broni’s supporters, many of whom had backed the Abusuapanin’s leadership, visibly distressed. Later that night, during a TikTok live broadcast, members of her camp — led by evangelist and social media personality Freda Afriyie — held a prayer session to express their sorrow and call on God for guidance and justice.

The live stream showed emotional scenes of supporters singing hymns and praying fervently for peace to prevail within the divided family. Freda Afriyie, who has been one of Odo Broni’s strongest advocates, was overcome with emotion during the session, describing the Palace’s verdict as a painful setback.

The situation has exposed the widening rift within the Lumba family, as disputes over authority and funeral decisions continue to play out both at traditional forums and across social media platforms.
