The Adansi Odumasi Health Centre in the Obuasi East Municipality of the Ashanti Region has appealed to government, stakeholders and the general public to support the facility with a standby power plant to prevent disruptions in critical healthcare services.
Senior Physician Assistant, Jabiuk Jabgben FrancisThe appeal was made by the Senior Physician Assistant, Jabiuk Jabgben Francis, during a donation exercise by philanthropist Christopher Asamoah, who presented a washing machine and other medical items to the facility to enhance sanitation and service delivery.
Speaking to Adom News correspondent Isaac K. Normanyo, Mr Francis indicated that the facility had for years relied on manual laundry processes, raising concerns about infection control and the safety of both patients and staff.
He noted that although the donation of the washing machine would significantly improve hygiene standards, the absence of a reliable power supply remains a major challenge.
Mr Francis therefore called for the provision of a standby power plant to ensure uninterrupted operations, particularly during emergencies.
The donor, Christopher Asamoah, who hails from the Odumasi community, said he was motivated by a personal commitment to support the development of his hometown.
He disclosed that his previous contributions to the facility included hospital beds, bed sheets and other essential items, some of which were made possible through collaboration with Adansi residents in the United Kingdom.
Mr Asamoah urged other natives, especially those in the diaspora, to emulate such gestures to improve healthcare delivery in the area.
Also speaking at the event, the Regent of Adansi Odumasi, Nana Kwantepinaa Kwamoa Bosompim, commended the philanthropist for his continuous support and called on other members of the community to contribute towards the development of the health centre.
He further invoked blessings on the donor and stressed the need for collective effort in addressing the challenges confronting the facility.
The management of the health centre remains hopeful that the appeal for a standby power plant will receive the needed attention to safeguard lives and improve healthcare delivery in the municipality.
