DCE Ceaser Ofosu Acheampong making presentation to one of the beneficiaries
The Offinso North District Assembly in the Ashanti Region, has extended financial support to 36 Persons With Disabilities (PWDs) in the area.
The support formed part of the assembly’s broader commitment to promoting inclusion, equity and social protection within the district.
At short presentation ceremony, a total amount of GH¢16,075 was disbursed to the beneficiaries, with individuals receiving cash ranging from GH¢1,000 to GH¢3,500, depending on the nature of assistance required.
The support is expected to address diverse needs, including education, expenses from basic to Senior High school levels, medical care, and capital to support small-scale businesses and vocational activities aimed at improving beneficiaries’ economic independence.
The Offinso North District Officer of Social welfare, Osei Poku Gideon, reaffirmed the assembly’s commitment to empowering Vulnerable groups and ensuring that one was left behind in the development process.
The District Chief Executive for the area, Ceaser Ofosu Acheampong, called on the beneficiaries to utilise the funds strictly for the purpose which they were awarded, stressing that prudent use of the support would help improve their livelihoods and create sustainable opportunities for themselves and their families.
He encouraged person with disabilities to remain confident, resilient and hopeful, assuring them that the NDC government remained committed to inclusivity and the welfare of all citizens, regardless of physical ability.
The DCE noted that investing in PWDs was not an act of charity but a rather of social justice and equal opportunity.
