Ghanaian musician Olivetheboy has shocked many by naming gospel group Team Eternity as his pick for Artiste of the Year at the upcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).
The artist made the bold statement during an interview with Doreen Avio on Daybreak Hitz on Thursday, May 8, 2025.
When asked to select his favourite for the prestigious award, Olivetheboy surprised the audience by choosing Team Eternity over other nominees like King Paluta, Stonebwoy, King Promise, Black Sherif, and Joe Mettle.
In his response, he explained that he was feeling particularly religious that day and wanted to make his selection based on that sentiment, adding, “I won’t choose people in my circle. I will choose Team Eternity, however it goes.”
His choice has stirred conversation across social media and among fans, with many praising his unexpected pick. The TGMAs, set for Saturday, May 10, 2025, are already generating excitement, and Olivetheboy’s comments have added to the buzz.
In addition to his pick for Artiste of the Year, Olivetheboy is also in the running for several other categories, including Most Popular Song of the Year with his hit single “Asylum,” Songwriter of the Year, and Afrobeats Song of the Year.
