In a heartbreaking incident in Suhum, Eastern Region, the lifeless body of a one-week-old baby boy was retrieved from a toilet pit on September 23, 2025. The recovery operation was carried out by an 11-member Fire Rescue team from the Suhum Municipal fire station, led by ASTNO Danso Henry.

The tragic discovery occurred near Gateway Preparatory School at around 7:00 a.m. Preliminary investigations indicate that the infant’s mother allegedly abandoned him in the pit before fleeing the scene.
