Spokesperson for the campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Kwasi Kwarteng, has said his candidate is the only aspirant with a clear and consistent message ahead of the party’s January 31 primaries.

Speaking on JoyNews Desk on Thursday, barely 78 hours before the election, Mr Kwarteng argued that, among the five contenders, only Mr Agyapong has articulated a coherent and compelling message to party delegates.

He said Mr Agyapong has toured the country to engage delegates and communicate a vision centred on empowerment if given the mandate.

“So far, we are the only team that has demonstrated that we have a message that we are selling to the delegates. Kennedy Agyapong has been consistent and very clear that give me the vote, and I will give you power. So Kennedy Agyapong has always been consistent that if you give him the vote, he will give you power,” he said.

He added that the campaign goes beyond empowerment to a broader national agenda focused on employment.

“But beyond that, he goes beyond power and then makes a national promise, a national message, and that message is jobs,” he argued.

Mr Kwarteng claimed that other aspirants have failed to prioritise and communicate their messages with similar clarity.

“And that is clear; no other aspirant has been able to put his priority on his message like that. Dr Bawumia is our close contender. If I ask you the message he is preaching, it will be difficult for you to tell,” he said.

According to him, this consistency sets Mr Agyapong apart from the other contenders, including former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, and makes his campaign resonate more strongly with delegates nationwide.

About 211,849 delegates of the NPP are expected to vote at 333 polling centres across the country on Sunday, January 31, to elect the party’s flagbearer for the 2028 general election.
