The Olu of Warri Kingdom in Nigeria, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, has described the Occupant of the Golden Stool, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as a “builder and guardian of peace.”

He credited Otumfuo’s 27-year reign with deliberate leadership that has secured stability in Ghana and beyond.

The Nigerian monarch made the remarks at the ‘World-Meets-in-Ghana Executive Dinner Ball’ held on April 24, 2026, at the Manhyia Palace to celebrate Otumfuo’s 27th enstoolment anniversary.

“I celebrate you as you mark 27 years of steady and disciplined leadership. I affirm Otumfuo as a builder and guardian of peace, which is the result of deliberate leadership. I must highlight your influence on stability within Ghana and beyond,” he told the gathering.

He argued that Otumfuo’s record of peace was not accidental but the product of consistent, moral authority.

This, he said, had made Otumfuo the face of Ghana to the world.

“Otumfuo, in his own regal way, represents the face of Ghana. With leaders like him, the world sees what deliberate, moral authority can achieve. It is not the noise of conflict, but the quiet work of peace that endures.”

The Olu of Warri Kingdom used the occasion to affirm solidarity between the Warri Kingdom and the Asante Kingdom, pledging his continued goodwill to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He prayed for longevity for the Asantehene and commended his 27 years of “steady and disciplined leadership,” describing him as a builder and guardian of peace whose influence has extended beyond Ghana.

The dinner ball drew high-profile personalities, including former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Commonwealth Secretary-General Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, Chief Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, and Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Johnson Asiama.
