Apostle Francis Amoako Attah, the founder of the Lord’s Parliament Chapel International, has issued a strong caution to Ghana’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) regarding their treatment of Prophet Owusu Bempah.
The apostle expressed his displeasure over what he perceives as the party’s disregard for the prophet, despite Owusu Bempah’s significant role in the NPP’s victories in the 2016 and 2020 elections.
Amoako Attah highlighted that Owusu Bempah had used his church’s influence to support the NPP, particularly during Nana Addo’s campaign.
Despite this contribution, he feels that the party has now sidelined the prophet, leading to growing tension between the two.
The Apostle noted that Owusu Bempah is allegedly in the “bad books” of the party and its leaders, which has sparked concern among supporters of the prophet.
Addressing his congregation on Sunday, September 15, 2024, Amoako Attah urged the NPP to stop disrespecting Owusu Bempah, stating that the prophet deserves better treatment for his past contributions.
He further cautioned that if the NPP continues to ignore or insult the prophet, it could have severe consequences for the party.
The apostle underscored Owusu Bempah’s value, calling on party members to halt any ongoing criticisms and show the prophet the respect he has earned.
Amoako Attah also brought up Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer for the 2024 elections, defending him against accusations of mistreating Owusu Bempah.
The Apostle mentioned that Bawumia had visited the prophet’s church in the past, showing his recognition of Owusu Bempah’s importance.
Nevertheless, Amoako Attah called for unity and mutual respect between the NPP and religious figures like Owusu Bempah, warning that ongoing hostility could undermine the party’s future.
In his closing remarks, he stressed that the NPP needs to acknowledge Owusu Bempah’s contributions and allow him to continue his role without interference.
“Now I want to warn the NPP, I want to warn you people that Owusu-Bempah has become your target. It won’t be a blessing for you. The man is a prophet no matter what. Someone who used his church to gamble for you in 2016, for you to give him the red carpet, why are you now insulting him? Why do you want to drag Owusu-Bempah into the gutters, why?”
