Panic has gripped residents of Banka-Busuafise near Ashalaja in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra region, following the brutal killings of three people, including two beheadings, within the space of two weeks.

Another individual is reported to be in critical condition, AdomNews reported.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incidents are believed to be linked to the activities of alleged land guards operating in the area, raising serious concerns over safety and security.

Speaking to Adom News, Gilbert Kwame Afekpe, Assemblyman for the Ashalaja Electoral Area, said two of the victims were beheaded and their bodies left in an unfinished building.

“A Nigerian national, who had come to the area to measure his land, was also shot dead, bringing the death toll to three. Another person was stabbed yesterday,” he added.

One victim remains in critical condition and is receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.

Mr Afekpe has appealed to the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) to urgently intervene and restore order, warning that the community is living in fear of further attacks.

Residents also voiced their distress over the escalating violence. Veronica Amoh, a local resident, said the situation has disrupted daily life, preventing children from attending school.
