Parliament has announced plans to extend the duration of sitting from next week from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.
The announcement was made by the Deputy Majority Leader, Hon. George Kweku Ricketts-Hagan, when he presented the explanatory memorandum on the Business Statement for the sixth week ending Friday, March 13, 2026.
This will commence on Monday, March 9, 2026.
According to the Deputy Majority Leader, this will help the House to clear the backlog of statements and also continue the debate on the State of the Nation Address.
Hon Hagan emphasised that the debate on the Message on the State of the Nation will continue next week, and will be concluded by the Majority and Minority Leaders on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.
