In a move aligned with the Government of Ghana’s airport infrastructure modernisation programme, PassionAir has announced the introduction of the Airport Infrastructure Development Charge (AIDC).

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, April 1, the charge, mandated by the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), will come into effect from April 1, affecting all domestic flights departing from Ghanaian airports.

The AIDC, set at GH¢100 per one-way journey, will be incorporated into all applicable domestic passenger fares.

The charge is designed to contribute to the funding of the government’s ongoing and future airport infrastructure improvements across the country.

PassionAir’s announcement on Wednesday follows the government’s efforts to enhance Ghana’s aviation infrastructure, which includes modernising terminals, upgrading runways, and improving overall passenger facilities.
