During a powerful message delivered at the Easter Youth Retreat of the Deeper Life Bible Church in Ayakomaso, Pastor Robert Lugushie, Bono Regional Coordinator of the church, raised serious concerns about rising social behaviors he described as spiritually destructive.
Addressing a packed gathering of young believers, Pastor Lugushie condemned gambling, sports betting, and issues related to gender transition, describing them as deceptive forces crafted by demonic influences.
He insisted that such trends are not merely lifestyle choices or social trends, but spiritual traps designed to derail the destinies of the youth.
According to him, there are unseen forces manipulating young people into embracing these habits, and once drawn in, many find it extremely difficult to escape. He warned that what may seem like harmless entertainment or identity exploration could, in fact, be spiritual bondage disguised in modern trends.
“The devil isn’t just whispering anymore — he’s actively orchestrating these influences,” he warned, urging the youth to guard their lives with spiritual alertness.
Pastor Lugushie encouraged participants to seek spiritual growth, pursue holiness, and anchor their ambitions in Christ rather than material wealth. He emphasized that true prosperity stems from divine principles and warned against chasing riches through ungodly means.
He also urged young Christians to remain vigilant, stay rooted in their faith, and not allow themselves to be swayed by modern ideologies that subtly erode moral values.
The retreat, hosted in the Sunyani West Municipality, brought together youth from various branches of the church and focused on deepening spiritual commitment during the Easter season.
