The Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) has taken a bold step into a new era of communication with the launch of PCG Connect, a structured monthly media engagement platform.
Officially unveiled in March 2026 at the Church House, Osu, PCG Connect is envisioned as a long-term platform that will evolve with the church’s needs, and it comes at a time when the church is experiencing significant growth in its digital life, with the church steadily positioning itself well in the blogosphere.
The platform is thus expected to sustain and expand the church’s momentum by providing consistent, structured content to share amongst members and the general public.
PCG Connect
An initiative of the Clerk of the General Assembly, Rev. David Aboagye Danquah, it is intended to deepen transparency, accountability, and fellowship across the church.
PCG Connect is designed to serve as a “town hall style” interface, bringing together the church’s departments, members, the media, and the wider public.
Each month, a department will take the spotlight, presenting updates on its work, highlighting key initiatives, and sharing both successes and challenges. The sessions are broadcast on PCG TV and amplified across the church’s social media platforms, ensuring wide accessibility and engagement.
Benefit
Explaining the rationale for the initiative, Rev. Aboagye Danquah said members of the PCG worldwide, through PCG Connect, will receive more than information; it will also provide a sense of belonging and active participation.
He said as the church prepares for its Bicentennial celebrations, PCG Connect will serve as a vital tool in amplifying its message, fostering unity, and projecting its vision of being a Christ-centred, self-sustaining, and growing Church.
“The PCG Connect is significant in the Presbyterian Church of Ghana’s communications strategy.
By combining tradition with modern media engagement, the church is not only strengthening its internal structures but also enhancing its external witness.”
“With its blend of accountability and fellowship, PCG Connect promises to be a transformative platform, one that will keep the church connected, visible, and relevant in the years ahead.”
“For the media, it creates a reliable channel to access updates and stories, while for the wider public, it showcases the Church’s spiritual, moral, social, and environmental witness,” he stated.
Rev. Aboagye-Danquah stressed that by opening up departmental work to public scrutiny and dialogue, the church was reinforcing its commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusivity.
First session
The inaugural session was held last Tuesday, featuring the Department of Development and Social Services (DSS).
The Director of the DSS, Rebecca Teiko Sabah, focused on accountability and impact, with a strong call to church members and the public to support the department’s work.
Mrs Teiko Sabah also highlighted the church’s ongoing social responsibility initiatives, including health services, community development, and support for vulnerable groups.
