All five New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirants have signed a peace pact, committing themselves to unity, respect for party processes and support for the eventual winner ahead of the party’s January 31, 2026, presidential primaries.

The aspirants include former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Assin Central MP Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Abetifi MP and former Food and Agriculture Minister Dr Bryan Acheampong, Bosomtwe MP and former Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, and former NPP General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong.

By signing the pact, the aspirants agreed to conduct their campaigns peacefully, avoid divisive language and accept the outcome of the primaries as a valid reflection of the will of party delegates.

They also pledged to maintain party cohesion and work together to support the chosen flagbearer, not only in the lead-up to the 2028 general elections but also in efforts to secure a strong parliamentary majority.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong said the pact reflects the party’s commitment to a transparent, fair and peaceful internal contest, adding that any disputes arising from the process would be resolved through the party’s internal mechanisms in line with its constitution.
