Police arrest 2 more suspects linked to Adabraka jewellery shop robbery

The Ghana Police Service has arrested two additional suspects in connection with the robbery of a jewellery shop at Adabraka, as investigations into the high-profile case continue.

In a statement on Friday, January 9, the Police said the arrests were carried out through the Office of the Special Operations Assistant to the Inspector-General of Police.

The suspects, identified as Hamza Agerego, also known as Nene Bawku or Lambert, and Alhassan Elliasu, also known as Arab Man, were picked up from their hideouts at Ashaiman on Tuesday, January 7, 2026.

According to the Police, Hamza Agerego was first arrested and detained at the Katamanso District Police Headquarters in connection with the robbery.

Acting on further intelligence, a follow-up operation was conducted at Ashaiman, leading to the arrest of Alhassan Elliasu at his hideout.

A search of the premises resulted in the recovery of a cache of weapons and other items, including two pump-action guns, 43 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 239 BB cartridges, four bulletproof vests, a black boot, a black face mask, two cutlasses, two Samsung mobile phones, an iPhone 13, a wristwatch, and a CCTV monitor.

The Police said both suspects are currently in custody, assisting with ongoing investigations, and will be arraigned before court to face the full rigours of the law.
