Police Detain Suspects Linked to Online Threats Against President Mahama

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed that it is investigating a viral TikTok video in which the President, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the First Lady were reportedly threatened.

As of Tuesday, August 12, the Police announced on their official Facebook page that two individuals—Prince Ofori and Yayra Abiwu—have been taken into custody and are cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Authorities also stated that efforts are being made to identify and bring in other persons believed to have been involved in producing or sharing the threatening video.
