Two women have been arrested by the Eastern North Regional Police Command following the seizure of a substantial quantity of substances suspected to be Indian hemp in the Eastern Region.

The operation took place on Wednesday, May 14, at Antokrom, where the police recovered 1,650 slabs of compressed and ball-shaped materials believed to be narcotics. The suspects, identified as Hawa Ibrahim and Latifa Adams, are currently in custody.

According to an official police statement, a search conducted at the residence of Hawa Ibrahim led to the discovery of twenty-four maxi bags containing the suspected narcotic substances. The size and packaging of the haul suggest a large-scale trafficking operation.

Both women are now assisting the police with their investigations as authorities work to unravel the source and intended distribution network for the seized drugs. The police have assured the public that the suspects will be charged and taken through the due legal process.
