Police Nab Woman Seen in Viral Man Slapping Video

Authorities in Ashanti Region have taken a woman into custody following widespread outrage over a video showing her assaulting a man. The Ghana Police Service confirmed on Friday that the arrest took place in Subriso, Ahafo Ano North Constituency.

The suspect, Esther Nana Afia Sarfowaa, was arrested alongside a man named Stephen Ofori, who was apprehended in Nkawie for his involvement in the incident. Police say they are still working to identify and locate three additional individuals seen in the video.

Both suspects are currently assisting investigators while in custody.

The viral footage depicts Sarfowaa repeatedly striking a man, believed to be her boyfriend, including using a slipper during the attack, while other men are present. The video quickly circulated online, prompting calls from social media users demanding her arrest.

Authorities are appealing to the public to provide any information that could help locate the remaining suspects and support ongoing investigations.
