Police Royal Ladies Ushers Asantehene into First Akwasidae of 2026

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, was led by the Police Royal Ladies to the first Akwasidae festival at Afia Kobi Park today, February 1, 2026.

The atmosphere was electric with excitement as the Asantehene arrived at the park, greeted by the thunderous applause of the crowd and the melodious tunes of traditional drumming.

The Police Royal Ladies, resplendent in their ceremonial attire, paraded for Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who inspected the parade led by Commander ASP Khafi Agyeman.

The Police Royal Ladies subsequently showcased impressive drills, demonstrating a four-count formation, the formation of the Golden Stool, and finally, a display of ‘AYEKOO’ to pay homage to Asanteman and Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The precision and discipline displayed by the Police Royal Ladies were a testament to their rigorous training and dedication to the Asante Kingdom.

Following the drills, Commander ASP Khafi Agyemang sought permission from Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to march off the parade.

The King, visibly pleased with the display, commended the Police Royal Ladies for their outstanding performance and reiterated the importance of preserving the rich cultural heritage of the Asante Kingdom.

As the Asantehene proceeded to receive homage from his subjects and dignitaries, the crowd erupted in cheers, hailing him.

The Akwasidae festival is celebrated every six weeks.
