Police seize over 3000 slabs of narcotics and arrest two suspects attempting bribery

The Tema Regional Police command has intercepted over three thousand chunks of cannabis at Sege Akpla Manya in the Greater Accra Region and arrested two individuals attempting to bribe police officers.

In a press statement dated 18th February 2026, the police indicated an intelligence led operation by officers of the Regional Patrol unit stopped a Sinotruck Tipper truck loaded with fertilizer sacks containing the slabs of cannabis.

The statement also revealed that the suspects abandoned the truck after seeing the police officers, later on two suspects named Victor Asibey and Peter Asibey tried bribing Police officers at the Regional CID office in Tema with a cash sum of a hundred and fifty thousand cedis to release the vehicle and narcotic substances

The two suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations and will be arraigned before court on 18th February 2026

The Tema Regional Command assured the public of combating narcotic- related offences and consistent updates on the handling of criminal activities.
