Police Uncover Alleged GH¢4 Million Fraud Network Involving Fake National Security Links

A Senior High School headmistress has been left devastated after losing a staggering GH¢560,000 in what police describe as a carefully orchestrated visa and vehicle auction scam.

The suspect, identified as 38-year-old Priscilla Koduah — popularly known as “Maame Kraa” — allegedly convinced the educationist that she could arrange three auctioned vehicles and a travel visa through her supposed high-level connections. Believing the story, the headmistress transferred the funds in good faith.

Instead of receiving the promised cars and travel documents, the victim was met with silence, broken promises, and mounting distress. Crime Check Ghana, which reported the case on August 14, noted that the incident has sparked conversations about how even seasoned professionals can be ensnared by scams that appear legitimate.

Police say Priscilla, a former employee of Newmont Ghana Limited, is now in custody while investigations proceed. What began as a single complaint has since widened into a major fraud probe, with investigators linking her to multiple victims and an alleged fraud tally approaching GH¢4 million.

Authorities believe she operated with an accomplice known as Nana Yaw Stocks. This man reportedly posed as both a National Security officer and Priscilla’s uncle, projecting an image of power and influence to reassure potential victims. Their alleged method was to promise quick approvals for vehicle auctions, visa applications, and other “exclusive” services — for a hefty fee upfront.
