Venezuelan TikTok personality Jesus Sarmiento met a tragic end while live on camera, after allegedly revealing explosive claims involving government officials and criminal gangs. The 25-year-old, who had amassed over 87,000 followers, was reportedly targeted on June 22, 2025, while streaming to his audience.
Sarmiento had previously accused high-profile figures, including the country’s Interior Minister, Diosdado Cabello, of corruption, and also pointed fingers at Venezuela’s notorious criminal organizations, Tren del Llano and Tren de Aragua. These bold revelations reportedly led to threats against his life in the days leading up to the attack.
The livestream took a horrifying turn when armed assailants stormed into his residence and shot him multiple times. His mother, who was present at the scene, was also shot in the abdomen but managed to survive the attack and is receiving medical attention.
In response to the killing, Venezuelan authorities have vowed to investigate. The Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, has assigned the case to the Fiscalía 69 Nacional to ensure justice is pursued in what is now considered one of the most chilling murders linked to social media activism in the country.
