Ghana is not experiencing load shedding neither has there been any load shedding for more than 10 months,  the Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Jinapor has said.

Also, he stressed that  there is power generation deficit as  the country has sufficient power generation capacity to meet demand.

In a Facebook post yesterday, the Minister explained that recent reports of frequent power outages in some parts of Accra and Kumasi, are not due to operational challenges within the system and not as a result of inadequate power generatiom.

“These outages are due to operational challenges within the system and not because of insufficient power generation,” he explained.

Stable power supply

Dr Jinapor said he had met with the leadership of key power sector agencies to review the current state of electricity supply nationwide.

He further stated that he has instructed the relevant agencies to urgently submit a clear and time-bound plan to address the outages and restore a stable power supply in the affected areas.
